I was contacted by Crispin the owner of the Fusion-R Evo the car’s in storage and hopefully we’ll be seeing more of it in 2009. And its running 675bhp at only 1.6bar of boost minus the lambo door hopefully i’ll re-feature it when I can get some updated pictures.

So i’m about to kick off roughly a weeks worth of rallying, it’s funny how a photograph you’d usually delete can really give a sense of atmosphere to an event. I’m trying more and more to capture more about what an events about besides just the cars, but even in the Forrest i’m a J-car fan.

A full report will be up soon but for now i’ll leave you with this as a teaser.

Not much going on today i’m just watching through the mammoth amount of Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles i’ve got Sky +’d I swear the first series was ok, but the second series has really moved the series forward, who doesn’t like robots? Summer Glau is depressing though.

Needs more beefcake terminator’s though with faux Austrian accents. Oh and i’m surrounded by all my camera gear as well as my winter photography gear as i’m off to the Grizedale rally in the morning, should snow that’ll be rad.

It’s well and truly winter in the UK with heavy rain, snow, sleet and sub zero temperatures the last thing I want to be doing is standing outside, but how could I pass up the Skyline owners meet at Guys court on such a wonderful day err

Things have been a little quiet so I dragged myself down to Guys Thatched hamlet to eye up some J cars and socialise (in between rain showers) it was more than worth the trip.

Clean looking GTR with BBS alloys

guys006.jpg

I don’t see many Pulsars around these days but visually they really start to look dated these days check out the monster front mount Blitz intercooler to replace the topmount usually fitted.

guys003.jpg

(name) ‘s Honda Integra Type R now rolling on new Work Emotion CR Kai wheels, no Rota’s here

guys007.jpg

Mean looking Subaru Impreza i’m liking the front lip but not the roof scoop, the front splitter gives the car a Time Attack look. I’m still a fan of the bugeye shape done right they look great.

guys008.jpg

But what do we have here, its THAT GTR the owner let me sit in it to look at the spec sheet so I had a little kid + sweetshop moment needless to say the spec sheet is massive with all the work undertaken by Top Secret in Japan. Had a great chat with the owner too real nice guy and he drives this on the daily.

Put simply this car is a work of art

guys015.jpg

The paint changes colour depending on which angle you look at it definetly my favourite GTR colour coupled with the clean rims and monster Top secret calipers. Just how a GTR should be.

guys024.jpg

Stance, this car has it

guys010.jpg

The Tuned Toyota Yaris from Japnorthwest, nice to see the owner again after Blackpool representing the FF crew.

guys011.jpg

Pretty agressive stance and wheel fitment on this Nissan Skyline GTS i’m figuring its usually lower

guys002.jpg

Threw on some window decals for a few rallies over the next few month then i’ll be striping the car of stickers and going with a few select ones. Hopefully next year I can lower the car and look into maybe the STI wheels again, does black on silver work?

It’s getting close to Wales Rally GB and your probably sick of mentioning it, hopefully it live up to the hype. With the decider less than two weeks away various teams are getting in some much needed gravel testing on the Welsh stages.

Privateer Gareth Jones recently took his Subaru Impreza WRC S12B

jms_gbtest_01.jpg

Looks like the stages will be pretty wet this year note plastic protective sheeting covering the rear arches, gravel is a killer evident by the front splitter.

Pretty bad conditions to be servicing in, note the trick disc and caliper setup.

I’ve never been a fan of Porsche’s mainly due to the fact they seemingly stay the same shape with every facelift, but this really is porn. 911 turbo with Volk TE37 wheels and Top Secret’s new Porsche aero, Top Secret are without a doubt my favourite tuner Smokey knows his stuff.

Widebody win the integrated boot and spoiler combo gives the car an aggressive stance from the rear coupled with the TE37 wheels.

So after the big power machines of the previous two in the countdown i’m moving a little downmarket with this one a car which is of particular interest to me. With the current economic downturn tuners are turning to smaller more affordable platforms heavy hitters Sunline racing famous for their R34 and Fairlady Z were early adopters of the Suzuki Swift in Japan.

Even MCR are making bits for the Sport, Sunline went down the circuit racing route with their demo car recently coupled with a Suzukisport turbocharger and sporting Endless brakes the car is slowly evolving into a 1600 time attack machine.

sunline3.jpg

With a full carbon circuit hugging splitter and sideskirts and monster rear GT wing the car’s firmly planted on the circuit

gu7n8684.jpg

Before going down the forced induction route the car employed an increased size throttle body, straight through circuit centre pipe and the full Suzukisport carbon airbox fed through the vent next to the numberplate.

In its latest guise with Endless brakes and the SSR wheels, some day id like to own some of these parts but sadly they aren’t to everyones wallets, within the Swift community knockoff’s are rife particularly as exports from China. It’ll be interesting to see how the car develops, its a golden age for the smaller platform with growing aftermarket support.

Can’t see it ever breaking 1 minute at Tsukuba though
