Some more interesting entries are starting to appear for the 2009 British Drift Championship, and well I have a soft spot for FC’s. With the new season due to kick off in a fortnight builds are starting to appear on the Driftworks forum.
Baby got back, the rims work really well with the green paintwork and the bodykit, needs a rear wing though Hirotaka Hoshino style.
I’ve not blogged so much lately its been a struggle to find anything that really inspires me, priorities change and i’ve been pouring my time and funds into snowboarding.
The new show season kicks off in 2 weeks at the International Styling and Tuning Show which i’ll hopefully manage to stick for the weekend, providing it doesn’t snow like last year.
I’m finding it hard to get really into the new EDC, Prodrift and Time Attack series, and am I the only guy who doesn’t like rocket bunny aero? A build which i’ve taken an interest in is the 2009 Wexican Altezza’s being built for Prodrift the one below being campaigned by Martin Ffrench in the Prodrift Irish series.

The next gen facelift Swift has been spotted cold weather testing, slated to be unveiled in Autumn 2010 ahead of the Paris Motor show.
The disguise is heavy but the car retains much of the current cars shape with the muscular rear overhang but the rear lights are now replaced with clear lensed items which look rather gash.
The front end looks to have lost some of the hard edges of the current model bringing the Swift in line with the new Splash and Alto
The golden woodland of Southern Missouri serves as the battleground for round two of the Rally America Championship, the fast flowing gravel a drivers favourite after Travis Pastrana’s initial dominance Round 2 See’s the resurgence of Ken Block.
The warm early spring temperatures of the recce and early stages of the event would be replaced by heavy snowfall with the final stage cancelled due to ever deteriorating conditions.
Dave Mirra partnered by experience co-driver David Ringer continues to impress in the championship running as high as third overall before falling back.
Ken Block would go on to take the overall event win, his first of 2009 over Andrew Comrie-Picard in second place.
Timothy Rooney brought out his 2008 Impreza catching some air on the fast stages
Travis Pastrana would suffer a roll on Day 1 after employing Colin’s “If in doubt flat out” method to overhaul a charging Ken Block.

MML Sports rose from the ashes of Mitsubishi’s old Ralliart europe base in rugby and have continued to develop and maintain the Lancer WRC’s previously campaigned as work’s entry. Group N rules allow any company to produce a car to the control specification but regional variations in suspension choice, most Uk team’s opting for Proflex Setups.
The Group N Evo X is based on the venerable Lancer Evo X RS the base model homologated for competition use.
The 4B11 remains now coupled with Motec management
Rolling on Speedline 18×8 tarmac wheels and BOS suspension the car features a Ricardo five speed Dogbox.
There’s something about Japanese Super GT racing I love and its the GT300 class often the class of choice for oddball entries, the cars just look hard, when your wings wider than your car you know your in Japan. The widebody carbon aerokits and centerlock racing wheels making already muscular GT car’s look even more aggressive, I hope Motors TV picks up the coverage again this year.
The Triple A Gallardo RG-3 tackles a left hand bend at Okayama, I love Lamborghini’s they make other supercars look soft
The WedsSport IS350 driven by Manubu Orido chases down one of the NSX’s.
The Reckless GT300 IS350 looks amazing in carbon, chased down by one of the F430′s, the guy can barely see over the bonne.
I got sent this plate-frame by Jay of JDMEGO fame early this year and i’ve been wanting to use it for this years show season. So I ordered a piece of perspex from Ebay and set to work making a showplate with a personal touch.
Turned out pretty good I think although I didn’t have many stickers to play with
For anyone who’s been to an EDC round you’ll be sure to remember the sideways screaming Toyota KP60 Starlet, for 2009 its replaced by this Altezza likely to be sporting a 5.7 V8 from the Holden Monaro under the bonnet.
It seems the rear is missing spacers so hopefully the offset on the rear should be sorted, rolling on a set of Hyper Zero CZT’s.
Really not keen on the rear wing and i’ve usually a fan of big wings its just a little too big!
