Yeah i’m out of the loop, your probably all sick of photo reposts right? I managed to drag myself down to the Unphased VW meet. Yeah it rained, i’m saying yeah a lot lately. Managed to snap these three photos, ironically I had an umbrella in the car.
It’s the Leyland transport festival this weekend which brought me conveniently back to one of my school memories which was setting eyes on Ford Supervan 2 at the town’s museum probably about a decade ago now.
The van was seemingly built on the chassis of a defunct group C racer which never turned a wheel in anger. Powered by a Ford-Cosworth DFL engine, the long stroke version of the venerable DFV. Clocked at 174mph at Silverstone i’m not sure what became of the van.
Things have been quiet lately, not much has really excited me lately but this excites me. Monster Tajima everyone’s favourite overly large Japanese rally driver is taking on the Peak. Gone is the XLS replaced by this SX4.
And don’t be fooled the car isn’t that small, its just Mr Tajima is that big!
