Sometimes its the simple things. Lip, stance, skirts and wheels.
You’ll never catch me rocking a fake, its legit or nothing. Naturally when I saw Varis’s latest carbon offering I had to take a little moment to reflect. A lot of the Swift guys are running cheap moulded bonnets from Singapore, but who could dispute how amazing this carbon bonnet from Varis looks for the Swift Sport.

Check out that weave, awesomes

A lot of awesomeness died to make this Skyline awesome. If awesomenessism was a phrase it would have been invented by everyone’s favourite Welshman.
You’d never expect Wales to be a haven for Skylines, but Bryn’s taken upon himself to set up a sanctuary for neglected Skylines. Not long off the boat from the shores of Japan, Bryn began modifying what he affectionately calls “the banana”. Unlike fruit which tends to go off a little, this Skyline gets fresher and fresher, now sporting the Bee*R324 kit which languished in the garage on one of his other projects.
I may shed a tear if this aero ends up smashed into a hundred pieces like the last lot
Literally made of awesome
It’s cars like this which remind me why I love blogging, and the car scene. Been a little frustrated and lost a little interest but after a good browse round i’ve got my motivation back. I’m still loving this Impreza

High mileage is a killer, with the Swift now approaching 52,000 miles, the Swift was due a Winter checkup. With the front tyres worn and no hope of replacement (tyres discontinued till November?) I threw on a set of Toyo T1-R’s.
Still getting used to the Toyo’s, initially the sidewalls seem a little less stiff but i’ve swapped from the 195 / 45 / R17′s to 205 / 45 / R17′s. The car was struggling on cold mornings which i’ve cured with a new Varta battery, oh and i’ve got new Ferodo pads on the rear.
Expensive month then.
With Winter fast approaching the show season finished, and pretty much everyone else retreating inside to avoid atypical English weather, i’m filling in the dark nights with some forum browsing. Came across this project on one of my favourite forums JDMStyletuning, take one unassuming Malaysian hatchback and an Evo engine…..

The Proton Satria shares much of its lineage with the Mitsubishi Colt, so on the face of it things looks like an easy swap.

With a salvaged donor Evo as much as possible is swapped over to the chassis, including panels! respect to anyone from Australia who takes on a project like this. The threat of legal action, rectification notices and general hassle from the Police would put me straight off..

Ken’s Mk2 has been kicking about on the net for a while, but this was the first time i’d seen it liveried. Respect to anyone who chooses to peddle a MK2 in competition. Although with Ken’s recent DNF I don’t think he’s mastered it quite yet.
